About CICON Timber

A small Danish trading house with a long reach into the forest

CICON Timber A/S is an independent hardwood specialist based in Hadsten, Denmark, with a sourcing presence in Asia. We sit between the mill and the factory floor — close enough to both that nothing important gets lost in translation.

What we are

More than a trading house — a direct link to the mill

CICON Timber is built on close relationships with a hand-picked group of sawmills, kilns, and component producers. We do not warehouse generic stock and resell it. Each program is shaped around the buyer it is going to, and the supplier it is coming from.

How we work

One office, one workflow

Procurement, contracts, customer dialogue, and sourcing all run from Hadsten. Supplier coordination, factory visits, and pre-shipment inspection are handled from Hadsten in close collaboration with our inspectors and graders. Every container is checked by someone on our side before it reaches you.

  • Supplier vetting
  • Specification briefs
  • Pre-shipment inspection
  • Documentation pack
  • Logistics coordination
  • After-arrival follow-up

What guides the work

The four things we are unwilling to bend on

Legal sourcing, no exceptions

All timber is sourced under FSC®, PEFC, or EUDR-verified chains. If the paperwork is not clean, the order does not move.

Mill-level transparency

We tell you where material comes from and who produced it. No anonymous brokerage layers between the forest and your warehouse.

Inspection before shipment

Every program is inspected on the supplier side before loading. Issues get solved at the mill, not at your receiving dock.

Long-term relationships

Customers and suppliers we have worked with for years are not an accident — they are the business model.

Where we source

A sourcing network shaped by the species, not the map

European White Oak, Beech, and Ash from Eastern and Central Europe. American White and Red Oak from the US Appalachians. Tropical hardwoods from Indonesia and Brazil. We follow the species to the regions that grow them best — and stay there long enough to know the suppliers.

  • Europe — Oak, Beech, Ash
  • North America — Red & White Oak
  • South America — Cumaru, Ipe, Jatoba
  • Indonesia — tropical species
  • China — components & inspection
  • Mixed-species container builds

The team

Talk to a person, not a portal

Three people in Denmark and one agent in China — small enough that the person who answers the phone is the one who actually handles your order.

The fastest way to know if we are a fit

Tell us what you produce and what you are sourcing today. If we are the right partner, we will say so. If we are not, we usually know who is.
